The visionary behind this transformation is none other than Jules German, the creative director of Consumer Products at Weta Workshop. A seasoned artist with a penchant for paint, German's love for classic monsters became the driving force behind this macabre metamorphosis.

Count Legolas didn't just materialize out of thin air; it's the brainchild of 3D artist Daniel Holland, Jules was then entrusted with the idea due to his well-known love for creatures of the night. Inspired by early monster flicks and a slew of creature features across the ages, this revamped Legolas pays homage to the OG Dracula, Bela Lugosi, with a sneaky tombstone nod.

"I added some skulls and perhaps a bit of swagger to him. It was really fun to treat the Mini Epic as a starting point. They have so much character and using them as base models for other characters is a pretty infinite playground!"
Jules German, Creative Director of Consumer Products at Weta Workshop
