Created by Weta Workshop veteran Mark Dewes from the basis of Mauro Santini's oped edition Gimli Mini Epics sculpt.

"I like concepting and collaborating, so I jumped at the opportunity to work on this project, teaming up with the paint shop to bring my concept to life. I originally concepted up this Gimli with the idea of what he would look like if he was corrupted by the ring. I drew upon the characteristics of Dwarves being expert smiths, and concepted this body which had become the very wrought iron that they fashioned their craft in. His glowing eyes and beard match the unquenchable temper inside."
