In addition to the wild Dunlending Men, Saruman sent Orcs mounted atop vicious Wargs to raid the outlying villages of the Mark. Huge wolf-like carnivores, nearly as tall as a horse, the Wargs were consumed by a bloodlust their Orc masters were barely able to contain and control. It is in The Two Towers that a scouting party of these Warg Riders will come across the people of Rohan as they seek sanctuary in Helms Deep. It is also in these scenes that Aragorn will fall to the river below.
