Driven to once again possess his lost ‘precious’, Gollum had trailed the Fellowship of the Ring all the way from the outer edges of Rivendell. In the opening scenes of The Two Towers, Gollum, seeing the Hobbits separated from their company at last, will make his move for the One Ring. It is in the foothills of the Emyn Muil, as Frodo Baggins and Sam Gamgee draw closer to Mordor and Mount Doom that Gollum will sneak down upon the Hobbits from above. In an unexpected twist, Gollum would become the Hobbits’ prisoner, and he the servant of the Rings new master. Against the wishes of Sam Gamgee, Frodo Baggins offers the wretched Gollum the choice of joining them as their guide, and because Frodo's kindly manner appealed to the gentler nature of the hobbit Smeagol, whom Gollum had once been before the Ring enslaved him, Gollum accepted. This kindness caused Gollum to waver in his original murderous resolve, and began a debate raging in his twisted and troubled mind.

The Lord of the Rings Medallions represent the very best in low-relief artistry. Presented with an aged bronze patina, along with a Certificate of Authenticity.
